What is different about this year’s Billboard Music Awards?
Billboard says this year’s show will be a little different.
Without giving away too much, Billboard announced that the show’s concept will include exclusive content like the artists’ performances, winner celebrations and behind-the-scenes moments.
But this year’s show also feature a new collaboration between the BBMAs and Spotify ‘Fans First,’ which will bring fans up close to their favorite artists at performances all around the world.
Performances and award celebrations for the BBMAs will take place in global locations, even at sold-out tours.
Spotify and Billboard worked to identify the biggest fans of particular artists by studying their metrics. They were able to find the fans that voraciously consumed hours of their top artists’ music and were part of the crowd that drove the performers to the top of the Billboard Charts.
Then, the two companies provided these fans with golden tickets that will allow them access to performances from their favorite artists.
Viewers can tune into the awards on Sunday to see how the new partnership plays out, watch a night of lively performances and see their favorite artists gain recognition for their hard work this year.
