26-year-old Kwadwo has been arrested for taking the life of his own biological mother who was declared missing 7 months ago in Koforidua.
Madam Mercy Oforiwaa, a retired staff of the Ghana Highway Authority was declared missing 7 months ago.
Her son Kwadwo, told the police that his mother said she was traveling to Atonsu in Kumasi for a funeral.
7 months on with no trace of the woman’s whereabouts, a neighbor building a house to close them went to the police commander of Koforidua Effiduase and told him he suspects Kwadwo knows something about her disappearance.
The man felt suspicious after Kwadwo stole his iron rods and other building equipment to sell.
He’s also started selling his mother’s properties despite the woman being declared missing
The police commander decided to investigate and interrogate Kwadwo again and he finally confessed that his mother is dead
He said the mother fell during a struggle with her when he was demanding 500 cedis from her.
According to Kwadwo, it was an accident and to avoid further trouble, he buried the mother in an uncompleted building.
Sadly, the 500 cedis Kwadwo was trying to take from his mother was part of a loan she took with intent of paying bribe to someone to assist her son get recruited to the Ghana Armed Forces
