Government should establish a proper disaster management fund for Voltarians – Torgbui Agyeman V

During the visit by Torgbui Afede XIV to the victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage in the Central Tongu constituency, Torgbui Kwasinyi Kakaklolo Agyeman V spoke to the media about the current situation faced by his people.
The visit by the renowned chief was to evaluate the harm caused by the Akosombo dam spillage in some affected areas of the Volta Region. Torgbui Afede XIV donated Ghs100,000 to the three Tongu constituencies.
The donation was received by Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome (MP for South Tongu) and Hon. Alexander Gabby Hottorwodze (MP for Central Tongu) in the presence of Torgbui Agyeman V. Torgbui then spoke to the media and made a call to the government on how to compensate the people along the lower Volta.
According to Torgbui Agyeman V, the people along the lower Volta must be the benefactors of a fund due to the sacrifices made to ensure the entire country gets electricity.
“We on the lower Volta sacrificed for the electrification of Ghana and the government should establish a proper disaster management fund” he said. He also called on all well wishes to come to their aid in this hard time.
The flood from the Akosombo dam spillage has affected about 20, 000 people in the three Tongus alone.
