Professor Joshua Alabi, the Campaign Manager for John Dramani Mahama was recently Interviewed on TV3 Ghana and he opened up about a lot of things.

“In his Words”

“I will always maintain that the votes we get from Ashanti Region are not real votes. There was a particular year when a deputy minister was meant to be an agent, they lifted him from the place and threw him away and the results that came from the polling station was something else. So this time around, we had a lot of such stories and our duty was to make sure that we get those who are registered to vote, and once we get only those who are registered to vote, then we have reduced a gap, that was the key thing to do, so we were very vigilant on that”.

“So yes, it’s true there was low turn out but to some extent the low turn out could be as a result of vigilance and the fact that we made sure that we don’t have people who are not registered voters or people who puts ballot in their sleeves and find a way of putting them in, or at the end of the elections, boxes would be be exchanged, we saw all that right? So these were all the things that we sat down and analyzed and said ‘Look, If we are able to work on these ones in Ashanti Region, we would get the percent that we want’, because its not possible for Ashanti Region alone to be having about 98 percent turn out”.

“It’s not possible, when the whole nation was around maybe 60 percent, it’s not possible at all, so there must be a fundamental problem that were not looking at. In the 2024 elections, this 33 percent is the true reflection of the NDC’s hold in the Ashanti Region and I believe that, we are yet to perfect it, in the 2028 elections, It might be better than this”, Professor Joshua Alabi said.
